Operation Aftermath…

Well I’m finally home from the hospital and the operation went well, except for the little numbness at the bottom of my left foot. I was woken up by the nurse around 4AM to start preparing. Yes, 4AM!! I was practically naked under the gown they provided me to wear. The operation took about an hour but I had to stay in the post anesthesia recovery room for about 4 hours for the anesthesia to wear off. I tell you, the spinal anesthesia really numbs the lower half of the body, I didn’t know the operation already started until I turned my head around to check on the doctor. Sadly I couldn’t see much since I was facing down. It felt really weird not to feel the lower half of the body. I almost panicked because I can’t feel my legs! Luckily I can still move them, minus the control. I was asked to lift my leg and without knowing my leg went straight up. hahaha!

There was a woman beside me in the recovery room, she was really sedated or can’t move. We had the same doctor also. I don’t know what operation she went through but she had blood being fed into her through an I.V.

I was happy to see some friends who came to visit me after the operation. Luckily I didn’t have the headaches during the visit. It made my day and made me feel much better for visiting me and bringing me food. Fruits and especially the mamon bread from Red Ribbon… the bread really tastes good =) You know who your are… 😉

I had to stay in the hospital until Friday, just to make sure nothing complicated went undetected. Went home happy minus the throbbing headache and neck muscles. I don’t know if this is part of the effect of anesthesia or just too much lying down. It comes and goes, and if I keep myself busy it sometimes goes away or later on comes back without me noticing until it was too late. Oh my ear also keeps popping, I think this is related to the headache and neck cramps.

Hopefully this goes away by Tuesday so I can go back to work.

Any of you tried going under the knife?

Update: Uploaded a pic of my leg after being operated.
